The Small Business Administration (SBA), in consultation with the Treasury Department, issued FAQ #43 on May 5th extending by a week the time within which a borrower has to repay a previously issued SBA loan under the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) in order to take advantage of a presumption that a borrower certified necessity for the loan in good faith at the time of the loan application.  For more information, CLICK HERE

The US Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s new case study report, Cultivating Wellness: Mental Health Training in the Workplace, addresses how and why leaders in the business community are creating innovative programs and training to address mental health and well-being in the workplace. While it adopts a general approach to building a mentally healthy business, the practical information and strategies provided in the report can be applied to any situation, including COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

Governor Abbott directed the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM, and the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to test 100% of residents and staff in Texas nursing homes. The Governor instructed HHSC, TDEM and DSHS to develop and implement a plan based on the guidance of Vice President Pence and Dr. Brix.

The Texas Association of Business released a “Reminder of Kindness” that I wanted to share with you.

    • Some people don’t agree with the state opening… that’s okay. Be kind.

    • Some people are still planning to stay home… that’s okay. Be kind.

    • Some are still scared of getting the virus and a second wave happening… that’s okay. Be kind.

    • Some are thankful they can finally have a surgery they have put off… that’s okay. Be kind.

    • Some will be able to attend interviews after weeks without a job… that’s okay. Be kind.

    • Some will wear a mask for weeks… that’s okay. Be kind.

    • Some people will rush out to get their hair or nails done… that’s okay. Be kind.

    • The point is, everyone has different viewpoint/feelings and that okay. Be kind.

We each have a different story. If you need to stay home, stay home. But be kind. If you need to go out, just respect others when in public and be kind! Don’t judge fellow humans because you’re not in their story. We all are in different mental states than we were months ago. So, remember, be kind.

As I have said for the last few weeks… be safe and be kind to one another!
