First Ever – AT&T and Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce Cedar Chopper Barbecue Cook-Off

Date: May 9 & 10, 2008

Place: 1890 Ranch – Medical Parkway and 183A

Time:
Friday, May 9, 2008 Set-Up of Cookers, Host and Sponsor 8:00 am until 12:00 Noon – Preparation of cookers and settings for Saturday may 10th. All competing cookers will begin their cooking at 5:00 pm on Friday the 9th.Last time to register to compete in the Cook-Off is Friday, May 9, 2008 at 5:00 P.M. at the site of the event.
Saturday, May 10, 2008 Cookers continue preparation for contest. Qualifying all day with close of event 6:30 pm

Sunday, May 11, 2008 Clean-up and restore

The Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce is the Event Host with Sponsors  AT&T Mobility and Endeavor Real Estate Group and Cedar Park Regional Medical Center, Cinemark Theater, Community Impact News Paper and  Crown Royal as co-host. Lone Star Barbecue Society will be the sanctioning company in charge. Winners receive points for annual competition.

 

The Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce will be the only entity selling food for consumption, along with soft drinks and water.

 

Access for parking shall be from Medical Park Way, 183A or FM 1431 into Endeavor Real Estate Groups parking area north of the Cinemark Theater and south of Medical Parkway. (Diagram attached) Pedestrian access will be from Endeavor parking lot to Cook-Off area crossing Medical Parkway. Cedar Park Chamber will secure officer assistance for traffic flow and pedestrian crossing.

 

Cookers will be located in a field owned by Cedar Park Regional Medical Center north of Medical Parkway at the corner of 183A and Medical Parkway. Cookers will be assembled in a circular position with a service (Fire, EMS, other) lane surrounding. Cookers will poses at least a 5lb. Class B Fire Extinguisher.

 

Public is invited Saturday, May 10th with FREE admission. Kids are welcome with parents and there will be fun inflatable play land for the kids.

 

If anyone is interested in Judging Brisket, Chicken, Spare Ribs, or a Cooker’s Choice, contact the chamber office. Children will NOT be allowed in the judging area. Times of each food judging will be on the web site. Chamber office 512-260-7800

 

Since all cookers, host and sponsors are self contained, Electrical will not be needed form PEC.

 

Port-a-potties will be available for public including ADA approved. A Trash dumpster will be on site for all waste, with smaller trash receptacles positioned throughout the cooking area.
