Stranger Danger Event
Stranger Danger!! The recent shocking discovery and rescue of three women who were held captive by a man in Ohio for approximately 10 years — two of whom were just teenagers when they were captured — brings to light the gripping reality of the potential dangers our children face. Approximately 300 children are abducted each year. Of that number, 50 to 150 are usually killed, although this number is actually down from last year, and that is a piece of positive news. Making children alert and teaching them what to do in the case of attempted abduction is best enacted as a partnership between the school, the police and parents. Just as the police teach children how to stop, look and listen before crossing the street, we now need to teach them how not to be abducted. This is our new normal. Our FREE Stranger Danger Event will prepare your child physically and mentally to deal with a potential attack. In this structured program, your Gracie Barra instructor will not only cover the most common attacks against children, but teach you how to attempt to prevent them, and then, if necessary, how to respond effectively! Join us Saturday February 17th @ 9 AM for empowerment and learning.
