Drive Up and Drop Off Shred Event
Texell Credit Union will host a free shred event to help Texell members and the community protect their personal information from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm on Saturday, April 22 at Texell’s Cedar Park branch located at 875 West Whitestone Boulevard. This event is free to attend and the public is encouraged to bring their personal documents and credit card offers to shred. “More than 10 million victims each year are affected by identity theft and the number on the rise. While we can’t eliminate the threat completely, everyone can reduce the risk of identity theft by disposing of personal document and credit card offers securely so they don’t get in the wrong hands,” stated Texell’s Chief Operating Officer Amy Merriman. Participants don’t even have to get out of their vehicle in order to join in the event. Texell staff will be on hand to unload up to three boxes or bags from vehicles. Shredding takes just a moment or two and the participant can drive off, safe in the knowledge their personal documents have been destroyed. For more information, please visit Texell.org.
